St Ives, Cornwall

Hi friends!  Just popping in to share some photos from a recent trip we took.  Miles had two weeks off from work (all the F1 teams shut down for two weeks in August).  We spent one of those weeks down in Cornwall (the very southern tip of England).  St Ives is an old fishing village that's sort of turned into a resort town, but still holds lots of the old fishing village charm.  Not to mention there were some of the best beaches in Great Britain nearby!  We stayed in a little bed & breakfast that was a two minutes walk to the beach in one direction, and a five minute walk into town in the other direction.

St Ives Harbour

The town is set on a hill, so there are lots of steep, narrow, winding streets

Exploring the ragged coastline in St Ives

If you follow me on Instagram, you've already seen this last set of photos.  We spent most of every day on the beaches of St Ives.  Tess is in love with digging in the sand with her shovel.

Miles is back to work today, so it's back to our hum drum schedule for Tess and me.  I may check in later this week with a pregnancy update.  Happy Monday!

  4. LOVE it, Kris! I would just die to go to that cemetery! And I love how beautiful the photos look in the rain. One of my favorites is that one of Miles and Tess walking down the steep hill. Tess in her bright raincoat is just too picture-perfect.

  6. Gorgeous photos Kris!! And such a nice surprise to see you back in this space :) Cornwall is one of those places I have always dreamed of visiting - along with Devon. So thank you for sharing you lovely visit - it really does seem to have a bit of magic about it that you have captured in your photographs. I especially love the cemetery picture - it looks very spiritual and unusual overlooking the sea as it does. Really, really beautiful though - I hope you will get that camera of yours out more often!! Also - isn't St. Ives known for its arts community? Curious if you had a look in any galleries?

  9. What a great surprise to see my favorite place on earth, in your blog today - I am going there the last week of September, and have been pouring over where to stay for the week. Would you be able to share which B&B you stayed in? I am looking at that kind of accommodation, and self catering cottages as well. We lived in England for 6 years and return frequently. Thank you for the pics!

  10. Chris --- We stayed at Lord Ryans B&B. It was budget, but clean and good quality place. Our room had a little kitchenette with fridge, microwave, and sink.
