I took this right before heading up to bed - Miles burning the midnight oil on the computer.

I went to a ballet in Oxford with a few of my lady friends. We saw Sleeping Beauty. I've said it before, but let me say it again... I love ballet.

Tess has a favorite stuffed friend, pink monkey. About an hour before the below photo was taken, pink monkey was placed into the washing machine by Mommy to take a much needed bath. Tess spotted pink monkey through the glass of the front-loading washing machine and was beside herself with worry. There were many tears and sobs, and she would not be comforted until Mommy forced the washing machine open (have you ever tried to stop a front-loading washing machine mid-cycle? Not an easy task.) Pink monkey was spared death by drowning, and Tess spoiled and cared for wet pink monkey for the remainder of the day. (watch the heart-wrenching video clip)

We went to the London LDS temple on Saturday. It takes nearly two hours of driving to get there, but I think it's worth it...

Crepe night! Lately we've been into crepes, and we especially like sharing them with our friends. (I'm so happy to have a proper dining room and large dining table - it makes entertaining so easy.)

Oh that video!!! Poor baby!! I know Maren HATES when I wash Lambie - I always have to sneak him away when she isn't looking and I put him in a laundry bag so she can't see him. Otherwise, lots of tears! So sorry we missed crepes night - looks so fun. And - matching pedis?? YES!! So sweet. :)
ReplyDeleteYour Tess reminds me of my little Harry. He has a stuffed creature that he calls Yittle Elmo (which in fact looks nothing like Elmo!)and we have the same drama when it's time to wash Yittle Elmo. They're so dramatic--but so fun too!--at this age!

I love the photo of Tess with her pink monkey. Reminds me of my son with his stuffed cat, Meow. We now have 2. One is always hidden should the one currently in use need a bath.
ReplyDeleteMandi, that's a brilliant idea! I must do the same!
ReplyDeleteYou just brought back a few memories for me then. The first, when my eldest was little and his blankie needed washing, fortunately ours was a top loading washing machine, but sometimes he caught me putting the blankie in the wash and it was rather traumatic. The second memory was of the London temple, my husband and I stayed at the temple accommodation and visited the temple whilst backpacking back in 1997. The grounds and buildings were so beautiful, the temple workers were lovely too.
ReplyDeleteLove your photo's.
