365 Days: Weeks 48-49

Eek!  Can you believe the year is almost over?!  Just a few more weeks to go in my 2011 photo-a-day.  I'm still deciding if I should continue with the daily photos for next year.  What do you think?
..... Now on to the photos....

Tess really loves playing in her new back yard.

We are so happy to have a functioning fireplace, and we are already putting it to a lot of use.

Exploring our new neighborhood - I love the tall chimneys on this row of lovely brick houses.

Tess spends a lot of time looking out her bedroom window.

It's just not Christmas without a bowl of nuts in the house.  Miles and I crack these while sitting by the fire and watching Christmas movies.

Sorry - not a good quality photo... Tess received a gift from Father Christmas at our church Christmas party.   (I love that Santa is called "Father Christmas" here in England.)

We put our Christmas tree up.... though I'm not very pleased with this small artificial tree.  I wish we had gotten a lovely fresh tree like last year, but our artificial tree is just easier.

On rainy days Tess and I are happy staying indoors all day (and in our jammies).

I love this about England - in the dead of winter the grass and fields stay pretty and green (in Utah the grassy lawns go brown and ugly in winter).

Tess took her first train ride!  We rode into Oxford for an afternoon with our friends Sarah & Maren.

Another yucky cell phone photo...... This is the restaurant in Oxford where Miles and I went for his work Christmas dinner (Browns).  It was totally posh.  I just love the people who Miles work with.

The Christmas market in Oxford - where I found yummy gourmet mulling syrup (a spiced syrup for making mulled apple or mulled wine).

Our messy garage - Miles spent the day getting it organized and cleaned out.

Playing with her nativity set in her bedroom window

Have a lovely weekend dear friends!

p.s. Did you notice?  This blog's on Facebook! Pretty please will you "like" me?
