This Labor Day weekend, Miles and I went on a camping trip to Southern Utah. It was actually my Campbell Family Reunion which was being held in Kodachrome Basin State Park. This was the only camp-out we've been able to do this year. It was fun to camp with so many of my siblings, aunts/uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Miles and I slept on an air mattress in our new Swiss Army tent. At night, the stars were incredible! I don't remember the last time I've seen so many stars - we could even clearly see the Milky Way. The days were extremely hot and I had to keep splashing myself with water to try and keep some degree of comfort. We've had our family reunions here for the past two years because this is my Grandpa's native land. He grew up in Cannonville, which is about 12 miles in from the park.
(Sorry, Dad, I didn't get any pictures of your inspiring Patriotic Program. It was very touching, though)

Miles got up to do mountain biking both mornings before the heat set in.

In the morning with my cup of cocoa.

My brother, Shane, is always good to have around for camp outs. He's always got the best camp fire stories.

We took a little hike to Shakespeare's arch. This little arch wasn't discovered until the 1970's.
My cousin's daughter is the cutest. I loved her little cowgirl T-shirt.

I was too hot to move most the day, therefore, this was my permanent perch.

It was Hayden's 12th Birthday!

Sondra and Wally

Wally and Sondra's puppy, Buddy.

The sweetest trouble-making nephew.

Stacy made crazy balloons for all the kids. I didn't even know she could do this. But, of course, there's nothing Stacy can't do. Her balloon flower is my favorite.

Emily and Cameron liked playing in our tent.

Miles cooked a breakfast of bacon and scrambled eggs.

My nephews seem to only hang around me when they smell something good to eat coming from my direction. In this case, it was the bacon.

I couldn't get over how striking the colors of the red rock and blue sky are.
Two of my pretty nieces.

This is us with our tent
